I have been asked this question repeatedly over the past month: “Why was the Indivisible Ferndale general meeting scheduled for June 30th cancelled?”
Here’s the simple answer: ” répondez s’il vous plaît = RSVP.” Only ten members of IF sent an RSVP for the June 30th meeting, so I cancelled it. I ask for an RSVP so that the hospitality committee can arrange food, seating, tables, dishes, silverware and a venue for the event. Our general meetings have usually been attended by 40 to 50 people, so we have moved from our homes to the Ferndale Community Center. This change in venue means the Center has to be reserved in advance and a certificate of insurance must be filed with the City. Arranging for this type of event takes time and costs are often involved.
So please RSVP for this IF meeting with Assemblymember Jim Wood.
Assembly member Jim Wood is coming to Ferndale!
Please join Indivisible Ferndale as we welcome our State Assemblymember, Jim Wood, to Ferndale. This event will be a BBQ potluck. Please plan to bring a side dish and a drink (beer or wine, of course).
- Date: Friday, August 9
- Time: 4 to 6 pm
- Location: TBA
More ch-ch-ch changes for our website
In order to streamline communication processes, Matt and I have been making changes to the IF website. The first of these changes involves sending emails to all of you after I publish a post (like the one you are reading right now). When I originally created the IF website, I asked folks to sign up via WordPress. This process required each “WordPress follower” to create yet another user name and password as well as providing an email address.
In order to simplify this process, we need to ask folks who created “WordPress user names” to please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with your name and the email address where you would like to receive our posts.
Please review the list of WordPress user names here. We will no longer be sending posts to this list of user names as of August 1, 2019.
Together, We are Indivisible!
