March meetings and more . . .
First, on a positive note, the gofundme.com fundraising campaign for Benito Nunez-Rodriguez’s family is close to achieving its goal of $5000. Benito passed away this past week during the extreme flooding in the Eel River Valley. Read the Times Standard article here.
Thank you to Jennifer Machado who initiated the campaign and thank you to Indivisible Ferndale members who have donated more than $500! Jennifer provided this update today:
I have had some people email me and express that they want to mail the donations directly to me so that I can give them to the family. I am awaiting those donations in the mail and as soon as I get them I will add them to what has already been collected . I have made contact with his wife who has since left the area to be with family and friends . I have also made contact with his cousin Miguel who has also set up another go fund me for the family. I assume he was unaware that our town already had one going for the family. I am awaiting a mailing address for his wife so that I can extract the funds and send them to her . If you have any questions or concerns please reach out to me at : jennifer8446@yahoo.com
Jennifer told me today that she will probably keep the campaign up and running for a week. If you would like to donate, go here.
March is here and Indivisible Ferndale has meetings to attend
Check out our “Actions” and “Calendar” page here to view all the public meetings in March. Please plan to attend one or more meetings to be informed and support our elected representatives.
In addition, please check these pages for Indivisible Ferndale committee meetings and our general meeting on Monday, March 25.
A new look for the IF website
IF Outreach committee member, Matt Knowles, has given our website a fresh new look and added new functionality! Thanks, Matt!
We will be transitioning to the new website this month and there’s nothing that you need to do. “Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain!”
And last, but not least . . . Whose House? Our House!
If you just happened to watch the Michael Cohen testimony conducted in the House of Representatives this past week, you might have noticed to new representatives who were questioning Trump’s “fixer.” We helped elect them both: Representatives Katie Hill (CA-25) and Harley Rouda (CA-48)!
Believe it: Every postcard we wrote to every voter in these districts made a difference!
Together, We are Indivisible Ferndale!
