April showers bring . . .
Welcome to April, Indivisible Ferndale!
First, the Indivisible Ferndale Calendar and Actions pages have been updated. Check out when the next IF committee is happening and plan to attend. Also, check out when the next meeting of the Ferndale City Council or FUSD Board meeting is happening and plan to attend.
Indivisible Ferndale General Meeting and Potluck on April 25
The next general meeting of Indivisible Ferndale will be:
- Date: Wednesday, April 25
- Time: 5 to 8 pm
- Location: Stephen and Jennifer’s home at 1057 Fifth Street, Ferndale
- This meeting is also a potluck! We will send out info on what to bring shortly.
- Please RSVP here.
Our guest speaker at our April meeting will be Sofia Pereira, mayor of Arcata. In February, about a dozen IF members attended the “Run, Serve, Lead” seminar. Sofia was one of the guest speakers. She gave a great talk on what it really means to run, serve and lead. Sofia is also a member of sheshouldrun.org, a resource for women who are either interested in running for office or supporting those that do. Go here to learn more.
Don’t miss this opportunity to hear Sofia speak!
A Volunteer opportunity to raise $$ for Indivisible Ferndale
For the second year running, Susan Aste is asking Indivisible Ferndale members to volunteer at the Avenue of the Giants Marathon. Last year, these members helped raise $1300 for Indivisible Ferndale projects: Susan Aste, Jackie Cory, Lydia DeZordo, Ed Lisheid, Judy Dixon, Jim Stretch, Kerry and Joe Chartkoff , Jim Aste, Martin Tubb, Stephen Avis and Patrick O’Rourke.
- Date and times for this year’s volunteer shifts:
- Saturday, May 5 beginning at 11:30 am
- Sunday, May 6 beginning at 6:30 am
The money raised at this event last year helped support Bonnie Deister’s campaign for a seat of the College of the Redwoods Board of Trustees. We have more campaigns and projects planned for 2018! Help us raise the funds needed!
And Last, but Definitely not least . . .
On Wednesday, March 21 at the City Council meeting, our very own Kathleen Bullard was appointed to Ferndale’s Planning Commission! Congratulations, Kathleen and thanks for stepping up to serve our community!
Together, We are Indivisible!
Gosh, John, If I follow your “Map” link to Lydia’s house on “Dewey,” I don’t think I can get there by meeting time, should I choose to drive. It’s a long way to Rochester, New York…. Jere Bob
