Spring is here . . . I guess
The endless rain has not dampened Indivisible Ferndale’s spirits. About 50 of us showed up last Monday at the community center (otherwise known as the “Fig Twig”) for our March general membership meeting. Thank you, as always, to the Hospitality committee members: Barb, Steve and Vicki, Karen and Pat and Kathleen and Tom! We really couldn’t do these meetings and events without you!
I also want to thank, CR Trustees Bonnie Deister and Danny Kelley, who shared their thoughts about one year as elected representatives. It was enlightening. Keep up the great work! And thank you, Galen (Danny’s daughter) for hanging out with me. You are welcome anytime!
IF member, Nereida Campos, made a wonderful announcement at our meeting. Her daughter and Ferndale High senior, Mariela Campos-Rodriguez, has been accepted into the Animal Science program at UC Davis! She is currently interning at Ferndale Vet and hopes to become a veterinarian. Congratulations, Mariela!
Indivisible Ferndale Volunteers are needed!

Jonas is Our Hero
Just in case you haven’t seen the flyers around time, Ferndale High student, Jonas Bramwell, is fighting a brave battle against Lymphoma. Read more about this amazing young man here.
Jonas will need months of chemotherapy to kill off the remaining tumors in his body at Lucile Packard Children’s hospital. The trip is five hours away. Jonas and his parents will stay for 5 to 6 days with each visit to Palo Alto. The financial strain on this family will be great, but there is a way we can all help out.
A fundraiser has been scheduled:
- Event: Jonas is Our Hero
- Date: Sunday, April 7
- Time: 1 to 5 pm
- Location: US Bank parking lot on Main Street
FES Multicultural Festival was a great success
Thank you to over 20 Indivisible Ferndale members who attended the first Ferndale Elementary School Multicultural Festival this past Friday. Hundreds of community members were treated to delicious foods and entertainment from a variety of cultures. Check out the photos on our website here.
