Barb and I were seated at a table in a New Orleans flavored restaurant in downtown Santa Rosa called “Parrish Cafe.” We looked at our iPhones (neither one of us has worn a watch in awhile) and then back at each other. It was 1:15 pm, the agreed upon time to meet. “Do you know what he looks like?” Barb asked. “Not a clue. We’ve been corresponding over email for the past several weeks. I didn’t think to ask for a photo,” I answered.
We were waiting for someone named “Jack” who would deliver another 450 postcards to Indivisible Ferndale. Finally, a gentleman sauntered in the front door scanning the tables for possible “progressive operatives.” “Jack,” I said. He nodded and placed a paper bag on the table. We finally met Jack “the bagman” from Sonoma Indivisible.
Since this encounter, Indivisible Ferndale has divided up all the postcards and prepared them for mailing either directly to the voters or the campaign. I just ordered another 200 cards for distribution later this week. We are working to flip CA-04, CA-25 and CA-48 congressional districts located in the southern part of our state. You can join us too.
Check out the “Actions” page for the next postcard writing workshop.
Check out the “Volunteer” page for phone banking opportunities to support Democratic campaigns and initiatives both locally and throughout our state.
